SFE Young Professionals in Conversation with Baroness Ruth Davidson

Baroness Ruth Davidson has extensive experience in the political frontline, as former leader of the Conservative Party in Scotland and playing key roles in the referendum campaigns surrounding Brexit and Scottish independence. A regular attendee at political cabinet, she was a key adviser to two Prime Ministers on constitutional issues. She was appointed to the Privy Council in 2016 and joined the House of Lords in 2021 as Baroness Davidson of Lundin Links. She is a non-executive director of Royal London and W.A. Baxter & Sons (Holdings) Limited and a trustee of the HALO Trust and John Smith Trust.

During her time in public life, Baroness Davidson has spoken up on issues including women in leadership, sexuality and same-sex marriage, mental health, and more. She is committed to championing better environmental, social and governance practices and has worked extensively in promoting diversity across a wide range of organisations.

This online session is arranged by SFE’s Young Professionals network and links with their work on mental health following their report last year, and their wider focus on leadership development and inclusion. Introductory comments from Baroness Ruth Davidson and SFE Chief Executive Sandy Begbie CBE will be followed by an interview and open Q&A session led by Caitlin Cooke, Young Professionals committee member for skills and inclusion. This is sure to be a fascinating session with one of Scotland’s most well known and respected leaders, book your place now.
