SFE seeking applicants for new Programme Director role

Programme Director (reporting directly to the CEO)

Overall objective

  • Responsibility for ensuring all key programmes across SFE are coordinated and delivered in line with our strategy and deliver the required impact.

  • Assume responsibility for key strategic programmes and lead through to delivery.

  • Ensure we have measurement in place for all key programmes to ensure we deliver impact to our members and the wider sector.

Key Task of the Role

  • Ensure there is a consistent programme delivery approach across SFE to ensure all our key strategic programmes are coordinated and delivered.

  • Ensure delivery of programmes has clear alignment with our strategic aims as an organisation and that of our members.

  • Introduce a more robust approach to measurement across the portfolio of programmes so we can assess impact both quantitatively and qualitatively.

  • Assume responsibility for our skills and inclusion strategic quadrant and lead the development of our skills and inclusion hub.

  • Lead on the development and commercialisation of our skills and inclusion hub.

  • Manage key external relationships particularly with our members and universities and colleges involved in the ‘hub’.

  • Together with the CEO, lead and oversee the development of our sector growth strategy for Scotland.

  • Together with the CEO, lead on the economic growth quadrant including evolving our banking barometer tool.

  • As and when required, cover for the CEO at key external events and meetings which align with the areas of responsibility for the role.

  • As and when required, lead on external research that will support our strategic themes.

Key results and objectives for the role

  • Have a clear overall programme delivery plan for all of SFE key deliverables.

  • Ensure we have clear and robust performance targets and measurement in place across the portfolio of programmes.

  • Oversee the build, launch, maintenance and commercialisation of our skills and inclusion hub.

  • Evolve our economic growth strategy theme and assume responsibility for the ongoing development of the banking barometer.

  • Development, launch and measurement of our sector growth strategy.

  • Maintenance and development of key external stakeholder relationships as required to deliver to key tasks detailed above.

Key requirements, competencies and experience for the role

  • Good financial services sector understanding and experience in Scotland and ideally the UK.

  • Excellent programme management experience.

  • Ability to work across organisations effectively to develop aligned and integrated plans.

  • Good stakeholder management experience.

  • Experience of developing performance measurement frameworks associated with managing a portfolio of projects.

  • Ideally experience of commercialising ideas to create a sustainable revenue source.

  • Ability to work as part of a senior leadership team.
