SFE Young Professionals vacancies

The Scottish Financial Enterprise Young Professionals Network is revamping its communications approach and is looking to fill two leadership roles focused on building and delivering a robust strategy to engage with members. Find out more about each of the vacancies below.

SFE Young Professionals Communication Strategy Lead

 The Communication Strategy Lead role is a key leadership position within the committee. If successful, you will play a key part in enabling the SFE YP Committee to connect effectively with its members by designing a robust Communication Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the SFE YP Chair to understand and champion the strategic aims of the network for 2023/2024.

  • Development of a communication strategy that both encourages membership growth and consistently engages existing members, with updates on the network’s strategic objectives, events and news

  • Liaise consistently with SFE, committee members, and firm reps to collate and develop upcoming content including blogs, podcast and videos – owning and updating the communications calendar regularly

  • Collaborating with the social media lead and SFE consistently, to ensure that all content is created to a high standard and aligns with SFE’s communications guidelines

  • Support the Committee Workstream Leads by providing guidance and advice on communication and content.

 Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic and proactive, the successful volunteer will have a passion for supporting the development of young professionals

  • Good written and verbal communication skills using Word and PowerPoint

  • Eager to build a network outside of their own firm and develop personally

  • Experience in building and driving strategy

  • Capacity to commit to monthly communication meetings and quarterly committee meetings

Preferred: Previous communications experience within a corporate / brand led environment

SFE Young Professionals Social Media Lead

 The Social Media Lead role is a key leadership position within our committee. If successful, you will play a key part in ensuring the SFE YP Committee connects effectively with its members by delivering regular engaging and relevant communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the SFE YP Chair to understand and champion the strategic aims of the network for 2023/2024.

  • Deliver engaging and varied social media content as part of the broader YP communication strategy, encouraging membership growth and consistently reaching existing members, with updates on the network’s strategic objectives, events and news

  • Liaise consistently with SFE, committee members, and firm reps to bring to life campaigns and tailor upcoming content including blogs, podcast and videos

  • Collaborating with the communication strategy lead and SFE consistently, to ensure that all content is created to a high standard and aligns with SFE’s communications guidelines

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic and proactive, the successful volunteer will have a passion for supporting the development of young professionals

  • Good written and verbal communication skills using Word and PowerPoint

  • Eager to build a network outside of their own firm and engage with members consistently

  • Strong experience in curating content and campaign across a variety of Social Media platforms, i.e. LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok etc.

  • Capacity to commit to regular social media posting, monthly communication meetings and quarterly committee meetings

 Preferred: Previous communications experience within a corporate / brand led environment

SFE Young Professionals Changing Customer Needs Contributor

 The Contributor role sits within our Changing Customer Needs Workstream and the successful candidate will play an active role in supporting members to understand the ever-changing needs of our industry’s diverse customer base. They will also have the chance to equip our members with key resilience and change skills, exemplifying good practice in the industry throughout the ‘Let’s have a Blether’ podcast.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the workstream lead to plan projects and campaigns, run events band pitch in to make the SFE Young Professionals a success 

  • Sharing new ideas, having a positive attitude to change, and trying new things 

  • Support ongoing member communications including the ‘Let’s have a Blether’ Podcast, blogs and videos

  • Participating in SFE events including invitation only roundtables to support customer themed discussions

 

Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic and proactive, the successful volunteer will have a passion for supporting the development of young professionals

  • Eager to build a network outside of their own firm and develop personally

  • Capacity to commit to and support regular workstream catch ups, quarterly SFE YP committee meetings and assist at events  

 Preferred: Experience in or currently in a customer related role
