Charity in focus | Financial Inclusion Service with Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity

This year SFE are supporting Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, and we will be raising money for the charity over the next few months.

Who are they?

Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity relies on donations to fund life changing equipment, support services and research at Scotland's largest children's hospital. The children’s hospital in Glasgow cares for more than 200,000 children each year from across the country.

The charity must raise £100,000 every year to fund their Financial Inclusion Service which serves as a lifeline for many families facing a long stay in hospital. For some families a hospital visit can become a long term stay, which can put a significant burden on their finances.

Initially, people don’t worry about their bills and financial commitments, but when they are by their child’s side in hospital the costs mount up. The charity fund the Money & Debt Advice Service at the Children’s Hospital, which helps families access welfare support.

How you can get involved?

We are delighted to welcome along William McGowan, Head of Partnerships & Business Development at the charity to provide members with an overview of the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity and the valuable work they do.

We will also have a representative from the Financial Inclusion Service at the event who will provide us with more details on how the service runs and the support it needs to operate.

Join us to see how you as an individual and company can get involved with the charity while also getting a peek into SFE’s charity activities.
