The role of asset management in Scotland

  • Burness Paull 50 Lothian Road Edinburgh, Scotland, EH1 2DJ United Kingdom (map)

Scottish Financial Enterprise recently produced a paper on the future of Financial Services in Scotland.

The paper determined that specific strategies should be developed for three sectors -  asset management (and connected firms – platforms, wealth etc), green and sustainable finance, and fintech – all of which would have data and AI, as well as other emerging technologies, at their core.

SFE’s asset management strategy explores the changing asset management landscape, how it pertains to Scotland and how Scotland can best harness the future opportunity.

At this session, we welcome leaders from multiple firms with a long heritage in Scottish Financial services and more specifically Asset Management to discuss the key themes that this study highlights. It should be a very thought-provoking event and will allow you to pose questions during our interactive panel session.

Mike Tumilty (Global COO Aegon Asset Management) will host the event which will feature Sandy Begbie (CEO SFE), Jen Mair (CEO Martin Currie), Kirstie MacGillivray (UK CEO Aegon Asset Management), Rushad Abadan (Group General Counsel, Aberdeen Plc) & Tamsin Balfour (External Strategy Advisor).
