Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity chosen as 2024 Scottish Financial Services Awards Charity Partner

SFE are delighted to announce Glasgow Children’s Hospital as the charity partner for the 2024 Scottish Financial Services Awards, sponsored by EY.

The charity fundraise to ensure that every baby, child and young person treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital receives the extra special care they deserve.

From establishing a high street presence in the Buchanan Galleries, to launching the Children’s Centre for Health Innovation, the charity have worked hard to secure new opportunities that will support their continued development over the past year.

The charity’s work also includes funding the hospital’s financial inclusion services, which help families to manage the financial challenges linked to long-term illnesses and help them to access welfare support.  The funding required for this service is £100,000 each year.

The annual Scottish Financial Awards are the premier celebration of the contribution Scotland’s financial services industry makes to the economy and to society. This year’s awards are being held at Hilton Glasgow on 31 October.

Commenting on the news, Sandy Begbie, Chief Executive, Scottish Financial Enterprise, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, which provides a range of hugely important services to some of the most seriously ill children in Scotland, as well as their families. Financial inclusion is a key part of SFE’s strategy, so we’re particularly enthusiastic to support the charity’s financial inclusion service and ensure that families using the charity’s services have access to financial support and advice when they need it most.

Kirsten Watson, Chief Executive, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “Thank you to our new partners at Scottish Financial Enterprise, who share our ambition that Glasgow belongs with the great children’s hospitals of the world. We look forward to working together in the year ahead and raising vital funds to support this ambition.”
