Scottish Financial Enterprise is the representative organisation for Scotland’s financial and professional services industry. Our industry contributes £15bn annually to the Scottish and UK economy, and our growth strategy launched at the end of 2023 set out our ambition for growth over the coming five years. Working closely with our board, member firms and external stakeholders, the SFE team represents our members to one another, politicians, media and wider industry stakeholders.

We’re looking for a PR and Digital Communications Manager to help tell the story of our industry’s impact on the Scottish economy and wider society, both through the media and digital channels. The ideal candidate will have c. two years experience working in a similar role for an agency, in house, in politics or the media.
With a high level of responsibility and exposure to senior figures across the financial and professional services industry, this is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills, network and career in a dynamic and growing organisation.
Key responsibilities
· Manage SFE’s day to day PR – reactive and proactive - including building relationships with relevant journalists.
· Drive social and digital media for SFE including social media output, website etc.
· Support wider team on member communications including member newsletters, ad hoc reports and scripting major events.
· Support events team around key events such as our annual awards and with regular events comms.
· Work with the Director of Communications and Public Policy on measuring impact and reporting to SFE board.
Key requirements and experience
· Experience drafting content for media and responding to journalist enquiries.
· Ability and flexibility to work well with a small team, and confident in communicating at all levels within member organisations.
· Experience delivering creative social media content at pace and to a high standard.
· Experience writing copy and drafting articles, press releases and press comments.
· Industry knowledge helpful but not essential.
The nature of this role will require some flexibility for occasional evening events, with an expectation of four days a week in the office with one day at home.
Salary: Around £35k, depending on experience.
