Youth homelessness charity Rock Trust announced as this year’s Scottish Financial Services Awards charity partner as Sandy takes on Edinburgh 10k fundraising challenge
SFE has announced that Rock Trust, Scotland’s youth homelessness charity, will be the 2023 Scottish Financial Services Awards Charity Partner
The charity work with over 1000 16–25-year-olds in Scotland each year. While this group make up 13% of the total population in Scotland, they make up 25% of Scotland’s homeless population.
The Scottish Financial Services Awards, sponsored by EY, works with a different charity each year to raise funds ahead of and during the October awards ceremony. Last year SFE members raised over £10,000 for Glasgow-based charity Refuweegee.
Kicking our partnership with Rock Trust off in style, SFE chief executive Sandy Begbie is hoping to raise at least £1000 for the charity through a sponsored run at this year’s Edinburgh 10k.
Commenting on the announcement, Sandy said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Rock Trust for this year’s awards, raising both money and awareness for this hugely important cause. Inclusion is important to me personally, but also to Scotland’s financial services industry, and I hope by running the Edinburgh 10k, I can set the ball rolling on a successful campaign of fundraising.”
Kate Polson, Chief Executive at Rock Trust, said: “On behalf of everyone here at the Rock Trust, I’d like to say a huge thank you to SFE for choosing to partner with us for the 2023 Scottish Financial Services Awards. I look forward to working with SFE and its members over the coming months on a number of fundraising initiatives that will support our mission to help vulnerable young people in Scotland avoid, resolve and move on from homelessness.”
